Discover RCS has been in the works for more than a year and is a passion project of a group of volunteers from the RCS Community Business Association. Our fledgling grassroots organization, formed in 2016, envisions a thriving local economy fostered through cooperation between businesses, municipalities and the communities we support.
We thought long and hard about how we could aid the business community, many of them our members, to ensure they thrive in RCS. We considered what we could do to aid economic development, attract new business and revitalize our Main Streets. We researched grants, appealed to our local municipalities for support and have spoken to many experts about community development.
Our volunteers live and work in RCS. We know this community well. There is so much history here. There are so many amazing business success stories. There is a phenomenal network of not-for-profits that look after the needs of our citizens. There are a surprising number of activities and events going on here all the time. And there are intelligent, well-intentioned, spirited people making all this come alive in RCS. The business association felt someone needed to tell these stories to boost our communities’ self-perception and propel RCS into even greater prosperity. Discover RCS was born!
The goal at Discover RCS is to showcase the excellence of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk, promoting its finest attributes to generate interest and investment in our charming small towns. We believe we’re one of the Hudson Valley’s up-and-coming hot spots. We’re confident our potential will soon capture your attention (and maybe even your heart).
